Abstract
This is one side of a double-sided map. This topographic map covers Alexander, Rothschild, Charcot and Latady islands, as well as Wilkins, Bach and George VI ice shelves. Rymill Coast, on the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula is also covered.
The map features details including the coastline, ice shelf extents, rock outcrop, contours, spot heights, bathymetry and place names. The position of Fossil Bluff field station is also shown, as well as the location of Antarctic Specially Protected areas. Terrain is indicated with hillshading, highlighting the large mountain ranges present on Alexander Island. An information panel is presented next to the main map, with a general overview about the region, text about the history of the region, and interesting information about place naming. Two smaller satellite image maps are also included, covering the Fossil Bluff area and the Ablation Valley / Ganymede Heights region.
